CEDWYN SCOTT’S double in front of a record crowd of 1,705 saw Hebburn Town reach the semi-final of the FA Vase for the first time.
Plymouth Parkway were on a club-record Vase run themselves, but the 800-mile round trip from the south coast proved fruitless.
Scott broke the deadlock 20 minutes in and then, crucially, added a killer second in first-half stoppage time.
The Hornets saw out the second period in relative comfort as Parkway were unable to hit their straps.
Delighted Hebburn manager Kevin Bolam said: “I think from start to finish we were the better side and should maybe have killed the game off in the second half.
“Chances come and go and you start to fear the worst, but we got through it.
“We played well and beat a side who are strong in their league where they have only lost two games.
