IT took a game-changing half-time substitution to earn AFC Telford United a point at home to Curzon Ashton.

Jason Oswell’s introduction helped swing the game back in the direction of the home side after an opening 45 minutes in which the confidence lacking after a five-game winless run was apparent.

Curzon Ashton led through a Dominic Knowles header six minutes before half-time, but when Oswell arrived unmarked at the far post to direct a 69th -minute corner past Cam Mason.

It secured a point which was the least the Bucks deserved from a game originally due to be played in Tameside but switched to Shropshire at less than 24 hours’ notice.
