Rhino Saved?
First News
|September 27, 2019
THERE is hope that the northern white rhino can be saved from extinction after scientists created two embryos of the animal.
-
An embryo is the early stage of development of an organism.
The last male northern white rhino died in 2018. There are only two females left in the entire world: Najin, aged 30, and Fatu, who is 19. An international team of scientists have now created embryos in Italy using two fresh eggs from Najin, and the frozen sperm from a dead male.
