Youths Using Graveyard As Drinking Den
County Derry Post
|19 September 2017
‘HAVE respect for the deceased’ - that was the message from Magherafelt PSNI after a group of youths were recently caught drinking in a local graveyard.
Damage was caused and litter strewn across the historical burial site in Magherafelt which the youths were using to congregate before police arrived to the area on Friday evening.
Officers were unable to detain youths as they ran off but officers did confiscate any alcohol that was left behind.
Police in the Magherafelt area are now asking local parents to be mindful of where their children are at and what they are doing, as they attempt to crack down on underage drinking and anti-social behaviour.
