COME SUMMER and city folks start searching for hill destinations to spend time in cooler climes. Nestled in the rolling Doon Valley and at the foothills of the Himalayas, Dehradun is one such popular place. And with the opening of Hyatt Regency Dehradun, about an hour and 15 minutes from Jolly Grant airport, there's one more reason why it can be a splendid base to explore the nearby areas.
It was late afternoon when we stepped inside this immaculately designed building, spread across approximately 4.25 acres, to the welcoming beats of local drums. After quickly freshening up in my Regency King/Twin room, I hastened to join others for high tea at the Range, the 24-hour multicuisine restaurant. The high tea was spread inside the restaurant but the view of setting sun through the glass window beckoned one to the outdoors.
