All too often, we start a diet and a few days later, something sweet teases our taste buds into submission. Why does this happen, and how do the seasoned pro’s prevent falling off the dieting wagon.
It isn’t always down to the mentality or the motivation behind the cause. Sometimes it’s being wise, prepared and knowing what suits your body and its patterns.
Here are five hacks to stay on top of craving mountain and not fall into the moat of sugary sadness.
Number 1
To Build, Prep the Foundations
You will have heard many times how preparation is key, and this is probably the most crucial part of any athlete’s life. Make sure you have each meal prepped and ready to eat. A hungry bodybuilder, past their meal time, can end up making bad choices, and it usually ends in something sweet. If you never put yourself in a position to make a bad choice, then you will stick to your plan and follow it to the win.
TIP: Try to make all your own meals to avoid any hidden extras a company may add. Different people have didn’t tolerances to what they can eat. By this, I mean that if the meal isn’t that fresh, one person will eat it easily, and another will struggle. Don’t allow food not being fresh as an excuse to skip a meal or at worse, eat something off-plan. If you’re able to prep the week’s meals and happily eat them each day, then fine. But, if you prefer fresher food, then prep as many times as possible during the week to eat precisely what you need.
