Heart-Rending Saga Of Kota Coaching Factory

Over the past few years, Kota, situated on the River Chambal and one of the southeastern districts of Rajasthan, has earned the sobriquet of the city of dream factory for thousands of adolescents who reach her to realise their dreams of making career in the realm of engineering and medical.

But unfortunately only here ceases the merits of Kota, the city which plays the role of a nursery of the beautiful dream careers of the students hailing from the crisscross of the country.

In the recent past, the city of Kota has ignominiously sprung onto both the national and international maps with the record ever-increasing cases of suicides of students, enrolled in nearly one hundred-odd coaching institutes for realising their long cherished dreams.

As per the latest statistics, Kota is the third most populous city of Rajasthan following Jaipur and Jodhpur. It is located nearly 250 kilometer south of the state capital of Jaipur. With the population a little over ten lakh, Kota, once ruled by Hara kings, is famous for the stone polishing industries, popularly called as Kota stones, and Kota or Doria saris.

Popularly referred to as the ‘coaching capital of India’, Kota is well connected with Indian railways and National Highways Numbers 12 and 76. The Kota coaching institutes of engineering and medical recently have been in news equally both for the bright results and awfully for a very painful reason of notching a national record of suicides.

Over the past few years the coaching institutes in Kota have conspicuously been in media more for the breaking news of suicides than breaking the records of the academic excellence and results thereof.

Just have a glance upon these statistics hidden into which are quite tragic stories, filled with pain, agony and tears -
