Author and life coach Goldie Uttamchandani tells Dipti Satwani how she guides Todays youth through the challenges of growing up in a multicultural environment.

Thirty-nine year old Goldie Uttamchandani wears multiple hats - she is an author, youth coach, motivational speaker, wife, and mother of two, living in a Sindhi joint family in Barcelona. Her story is one of self-discovery. Having spent years in the corporate world, Goldie decided to pursue her closet hobby of writing, authored a book and subsequently became a motivational speaker and life coach for young adults. “The journey towards becoming a life coach was a long one. It took a good 10 years before I actually gave myself the permission to break away from the corporate norms and family business,” she admits.

But even though she grew up in Madrid, Goldie was always close to her Sindhi roots. “I felt an internal tug of war between my Indian traditional values and the Spaniard in me,” she shares of that time. That evolved when she went to boarding school in the UK at 13 and she could finally find her own balance. Unfortunately, she encountered bullying in boarding school – something that has stayed with her and led to life changing growth. After completing University in the UK, Goldie began her career in back office investment banking and later on turned to digital marketing.
