Smartron’s strategy for the Indian market has been  pretty clear – have one product in a category and work on it to make it better. The Tbook is a good example. It’s a good 2-in-1 notebook with decent hardware at a competitive price tag. But is the company’s newly announced tphone good enough to fight in the highly competitive smartphone market? Let’s find out.

SIMPLE, CLEAN DESIGN

Tphone’s design is simple, clean and elegant. The phone sports a dual tone colour finish with colour options ranging from the signature orange, to grey, pink and blue. It’s also one of the lightest devices in the category, weighs about 149g and has a thickness of just 6.9mm.

As far as port and button placements go, the tphone’s front is nothing but the display along with a front-facing camera and sensors, whereas the back side sports the camera and dual-LED flash. The right side of the device features volume and power buttons; the left side has the dual-SIM hybrid slot while the top and bottom have a 3.5mm headphone jack and USB Type-C port respectively.
