Incredible Concepts At Frankfurt #IAA19 Highlights

MERCEDES-BENZ VISION EQS

A luxury electric saloon which assures us with one fact that the future of Mercedes’ design unit is in the right pair of hands. What an absolutely stunning piece of design and sets a new dimension. The Vision EQS focuses on luxury along with fully automated driving features. With safety and performance in mind, the real talk will be its performance, the electric motors at the front and rear axles and the battery integrated into the vehicle floor offering a good balance between both performance and safety. Thanks to more than 350 kW of output and immediately available torque of around 760 Nm, the Vision EQS accelerates from 0-100 km/h in under 4.5 seconds. As a result, thanks to an intelligent operating strategy, the show car has a comfortable operating range of up to 700 kilometres according to WLTP. Assuming a charging performance of 350 kW, the show car recharges the battery to 80% in less than 20 minutes. Also, promoting the long-term goal of climate neutrality for the next generation of EQ vehicles, the battery cells will be purchased from CO2-neutral suppliers. There is still a long way for that and Mercedes-Benz calls this step as “Ambition 2039”.
