The revival of the age-old art of embellishing fabric with different colours and textures is creating a buzz in the global decor industry. Different forms of embroidery are emerging, each expressing the cultural styles of its origin country. But the art has got a modern twist and is being done in different materials, styles and techniques.

According to Designer Anika Mittal Dhawan of Mold Design Studio there is a growing trend of incorporating embroidery in different forms in interiors today. “It not only instils character and warmth to a space but also adds texture. Today, embroidery has become a blend of old and new, and thereby creates new interests,” she says.
