Architect Rajiv Khushlani creates this contemporary, indulgent home in Indore creating new benchmarks in the city

In the olden days, a king’s sprawling palace would be divided into public and private spaces and a common area. Simulating the larger-than-life living is this gorgeous contemporary home in Indore, designed by Architect Rajiv Khushalani. The massive house is a ground plus two dwelling, that is at once grand and yet homely. ‘The homeowner’s brief was to design his dream home. It had to be Vaastu compliant and had to incorporate nine bedrooms, formal and family living and dining rooms, home theatre and guest lounge, an informal gaming room-cum-TV lounge, two separate living areas for the family and guests, a library, gymnasium, spa, salon, swimming pool and guest and private lawns. Also, we followed a strict rectangular plan with a ‘Brahmasthana’ (open zone in the centre of the house) in the middle of the home,’ explains Rajiv.
