When the face stares right at you, it feels like an old soul is trying to convey an unspoken, veiled message.

DESIGN PROFILE - Aman Khanna: Soul connections

Such is the effect of the Claymen sculptures. Nestled in New Delhi’s upbeat Dhan Mills compound, Aman Khanna’s Claymen studio invites you into a world of art that is both compelling, as well as appeasing at the same time.

Describing himself as a ‘visual story teller’, Aman refers to his clay objects as living entities, who “Although going through their own existential crises at all times, are mere spectators or observers to the notion that man is losing his humanity and becoming a thing amongst the things he produces.”

His deep sentimentality is intrinsically reflected in the thought-provoking titles he assigns to his pieces — Displaced Hopes, Humble, Melody, Self-reflection, De-stress, Bottled Up, Love and Peace, Loner, Unspoken, Blown away, Watchful…to name a few.

The extensive assortment of Claymen’s pieces that “come in peace and maintain silence”, act more like think-pieces, and range from swanky art sculptures to quirky functional objects like planters, vases, jugs, cups, lights etc, each one unique in its shape and form.
