Giving jewellery design a new twist, Pallavi Foley, shares with us her journey and dreams.

BEGINNING
Ever since I can remember, I have loved art. I collected art and made collages of different artists’ work from a very young age. In retrospect, it almost feels like I was piecing together learning from a past life. The idea of pursuing jewellery design came later. During the entrance exam for the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), a psychologist suggested to the jury that I was good at three dimensional thinking and should opt for accessory design. I quickly realized while studying the basics of accessory design, that gemstones, craft and traditional jewellery were my calling. After graduation I joined Tanishq, where I worked as a jewellery designer for 10 years. I designed many successful lines for the brand and eventually led the design studio. Post that, I decided to study at Gemological Institute of America (GIA) and then it was time to fulfil my own dream of setting up a design studio and creating jewels under my own label.
