For a gypsy, the world in an oyster. Whenever and wherever the mood strikes, she hits the road, collecting adventures and treasures along the way. For Ilona Milner, this spirit of the gypsy is fuelled by her work with Unicef. Currently residing in New Delhi’s posh and quaint Nizamuddin East, Ilona has previously worked and lived in Liberia, Central African Republic, South Sudan, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Jordan, Nicaragua, Switzerland and Italy. ‘We work to support government efforts in ensuring that every child in India achieves their full potential. Our areas of work span from nutrition, health, water and sanitation, to education, social policy and child protection. We also have an adolescent programme. It’s really incredible how far India has come and I am so proud to be part of the journey,’ she says.
