We love a good back story. After all, context is everything, especially when it comes to understanding art. For Mumbai born artist Sahej Rahal, these stories provide the roots for the sculptures he creates. The self-declared “nerd” is heavily influenced by mythology and sci-fi and finds his inspiration in crowd favorite movies like “Star Wars” and “Blade Runner” and authors Jorge Luis Borges and Italo Calvino. “I’m drawn to the potential of these fantastical forms in the manner in which they rearrange the world around us,” he says.
