Although the house was bought in 1996, it originally belonged to the Roman Catholic Church in the 17th century – Monteggiori was an important vicarial centre, connecting pilgrims from Canterbury to Rome. The exterior walls of the building actually date back to the 6th or 9th century! The 3,230 sq ft residence has four boudoirs (each with its own bath), dining area, two living rooms and kitchens and another living cookroom.
