Peaceful and resort-like, this private home on the outskirts of Ahmedabad, created under the aegis of Dilip Soni Architects and KSUP Studio, has a wonderfully indulgent vibe owing to an open-tonature, meandering configuration.
This home didn’t start as one. It was meant to be a weekend house for the Patels, a place they could head to for some private R&R, away from the frazzle of Ahmedabad. Ergo, it had all the trappings of different kinds of relaxation: a swimming pool, home theatre, gym, card room… something for everyone. But somewhere along the way, the owner realized that the commute wasn’t that big a deal. At any rate, it was easily outweighed by the peace and serenity that the place offered. Thus, a weekend house became a home.
