MUTHONI GITAU, 29, is a creative spirit who lives by the mantra, ‘live to learn.’
I use the name Muthoni Gitau not because I want to stay true to my roots, but because at different stages of my life, I have been referred to using different combinations of my name and this is just another phase where Muthoni Gitau suits me best.
I am a writer, poet, YouTuber and DIYer. I began writing in high school [Kiriko Girls, Thika] - mostly poems and scripts that were performed at music festivals. Fast forward to 2013 when I decided to pick up blogging. I took it up because I was tired of the ghafla [gossip] kind of news. Since no one was giving me what I wanted, I decided to become the source of the kind of news I wanted.
