The popstar turned queen of talent shows, is embracing her inner warrior.
It’s been a busy year for Nicole Scherzinger. The Hawaiian-born, American raised pop star has been jetting non-stop across three continents to grace the judging panels of some the most popular talent shows currently on air.
After becoming a global household name with The Pussycat Dolls, Scherzinger’s choice to focus on television over a decade ago saw her taking on different roles across several talent shows; from winning contestant to host and, finally, judge, Scherzinger has certainly earned her stripes in the genre.
In the past months, she was the emotional golden buzzer in the ninth season of Australia’s Got Talent, was as thrilled as the audience during the first two seasons of the US edition of the revelation show The Masked Singer and, from October, is back to the UK for a celebrity edition of the X Factor.
Schön! secured a spot in Scherzinger’s busy schedule for what turned out to be quite a telling and inspiring chat.

Let’s start with The Masked Singer. How did your experience as a judge there compare to other shows like Australia’s Got Talent and the X Factor?
The Masked Singer is unlike any show I’ve ever done or that most people have ever seen. The contestants are actual household names and it’s really a family-fun guessing game. You have to put pieces of clues together and you get to know the contestants through their authentic stories, not from hearing it from the rest of the world, or the press, or any other scrutiny. A lot of these stories make you realise how we’re all connected, how we all go through the same struggles – which is beautiful. It’s anything from entertaining to heart-warming and moving.
