Storm clouds are gathering for Lyra as BBC1’s His Dark Materials returns for a second seven-part series of magical adventures.

When the last run of the epic drama, based on Philip Pullman’s fantasy novels, ended, the intrepid teenager was horrified after her father, Lord Asriel (James McAvoy), killed her friend Roger so that he could create a schism to another world and pass through it to uncover the mysterious properties of Dust.
