John Simm is a grieving husband caught up in a deadly conspiracy in ITV’s new heart-racing Hong Kong-set thriller.

NEW DRAMA
Strangers Monday, ITV HD, 9pm
John Simm plays a man plunged into a nightmare in ITV’s new eight-part drama Strangers. The 48-year-old actor stars as Jonah, a lecturer who lives a relatively modest life, and whose wife Megan (Dervla Kirwan) splits her time between England and Hong Kong for work reasons.
But when Megan is killed in a car crash, Jonah travels to Hong Kong where he discovers his wife was leading a double life and her death may not have been accidental…
Here, Simm reveals more about this gripping new thriller…
What attracted you to Strangers? It’s so intriguing to wonder how you might react in Jonah’s situation. As if his wife dying wasn’t bad enough, Jonah has to deal with being caught up in a conspiracy as well. He’s not a stupid man, but he’s also not Indiana Jones – he’s a college professor and is trying to be strong and work out what’s happened. We had to bring that to life and get the audience to share in the horror of it as he tries to adjust and get his head round what’s going on.
