TO DE PABLO, credit for that comfort rested with her ex-longtime costar. “We get right into the groove," she said of working alongside Harmon again. "It's very easy to look at Mark and understand emotionally where you're going in a scene.”

That was pretty convenient given the circumstances. In the show, de Pablo's tough, smart Mossad operative turned NCIS agent, presumed killed by an explosion in 2016 (de Pablo had already left, in 2013), made a surprise appearance in the Season 16 finale to warn her former boss Gibbs that his life was in danger. With Ziva now somewhat in charge, there was a bit of a role reversal going on.
