5G is Coming: The Next Generation Of Mobile
-
5G TECHNOLOGY IS INCOMING
We’re using more data than ever before. Gone are the days where we’d spend our evenings in front of the box watching cable television, or using our home phones to call friends to arrange dinner plans. The way in which we consume content and communicate has changed - and it’s primarily thanks to our smartphones and 4G mobile technology. Today, we can use our cellular data plan to order food, book an appointment, and even buy a house, and while LTE speeds have made it easier than ever to stream and download content, speed remains an issue.
5G technology, the next-generation of 4G or LTE cellular data, is set to change the world once more, providing an infrastructure that supports super-fast mobile connections. Streaming movies, downloading videos and connecting more of your Internet of Things devices to the same cellular plan will soon become speedier and buffer-free.

While 5G technology is yet to be fully implemented in the United States, the hype for the new wave of connectivity has never been greater. Super-fast connectivity could usher in the fourth industrial revolution and transform the way we live our lives, impacting everything from entertainment and health to driving and education. It’s the “biggest wireless technological leap that’s ever happened in the history of the business”, according to Nokia CEO Rajeev Suri, and it’s a change that developers and consumers are ready and waiting for.
In today’s article, we go behind the scenes of one of mobile technology’s greatest evolutions, as US carriers and hardware developers get ready for the future of 5G connectivity.
