Heartbroken Britney & Sam: 'We're Noot Giving Up Hope'

After a devastating miscarriage, Britney Spears and Sam Asghari vow to keep trying for their miracle baby

The post was the worst news possible. "It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that we have lost our miracle baby early in the pregnancy," Britney Spears wrote on Instagram on May 14, less than a month after her first cryptic post about finding out she was pregnant with fiancé Sam Asghari's child. "Perhaps we should have waited to announce until we were further along -however, we were overly excited to share the good news."

She had waited so long already. Over 13 years under a conservatorship in which she wasn't allowed to make her own reproductive choices - she tearfully told a judge that she desperately wanted more children, but she wasn't allowed - Britney was finally freed last November from the legal arrangement instituted by her father, Jamie Spears. "She didn't want to waste any more time and was happily surprised that she got pregnant relatively quickly," says a source. "Obviously, they're devastated by the miscarriage, but she's determined to keep trying. She and Sam aren't giving up hope."
