After 10 Years of Catfish...Every Episode Still Shocks Me

The host of the long-running dating docuseries weighs in on scam culture and the lengths people will go for love

It's been nearly 10 years since Catfish: The TV Show debuted on MTV, but creator and host Nev Schulman says the reality series still never fails to surprise him. We've done 200 episodes, and there haven't been two episodes that were alike, says the 37-year-old New York City native, who chronicled his own catfish ordeal in a 2010 documentary (in which he was duped by a romantic partner who was pretending to be somebody else online). I never know what to expect, and the viewers never know what to expect. Shockingly, the stories are always changing. Here, the father of three (he shares Cleo, 5, Beau, 3, and Cy, 9 months, with his wife, Laura Perlongo) talks to In Touch's Fortune Benatar about relationship red flags, family life and his celebrity man-crush.

It's pretty amazing how the show manages to keep us all guessing.

NS: Even though some themes are repeated through different seasons, every person is going through this intense experience for the first time. That alone makes it exciting and unpredictable.
