Following a string of high-profile relationships and flings, Selena Gomez has made an attempt to keep her dating life low-key in recent years, but in 2015 she couldn’t help but gush about one handsome man who had caught her eye. “I kind of have a crush on Chris Evans. Isn’t he cute? He’s very cute,” she told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live. After Cohen noted Evans’ brother Scott had visited their studios a week earlier, Gomez excitedly added, “Really? Last week? Maybe it’s meant to be.”

Cut to six years later and, well, maybe it is meant to be! After keen-eyed fans noticed that Gomez, 29, had joined the short-list of 172 people whom Evans, 40, follows on Instagram, rumours swirled the pair had been spotted leaving the same restaurant on October 1.
