The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge pull out all the stops for George’s big day

In the months leading up to his sixth birthday on July 22, Kate Middleton and Prince William’s eldest son, Prince George, couldn’t stop talking about his upcoming milestone. And now that it’s almost here, “he’s literally been counting the days,” a royal insider says about the adorable future king. “He’s been boasting to family and friends that he’s about to turn 6 and is so grown-up.”

To mark the special occasion, Kate and William are throwing a blowout bash for the ages. “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have gone all out to organize a birthday party for George,” the insider reveals to Us. Hands-on mom Kate, 37, “has done most of the organizing herself,” says the source, but William, also 37, has pitched in too. The festivities will be set at Kensington Palace, with all of George’s closest schoolmates in attendance, along with his younger siblings, Princess Charlotte, 4, and Prince Louis, 1.
