But for Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag – who had their 2008 wedding filmed for The Hills, went to counselling on Marriage Boot Camp, temporarily traded lives on Celebrity Wife Swap, survived two seasons of Big Brother and are back on the small screen in The Hills: New Beginnings – being on TV has actually made their bond stronger.

“Those experiences are the ultimate test of your relationship,” says Spencer, 35. “You go through all these challenges, learn so much about each other and just really become a team.”
