You’ve got to come out ready to go with your dialogue memorized. The secret to my longevity is being somebody that the show’s producers never needed to worry about.

WHEN I FIRST STARTED ON THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS (Y&R), I HAD JUST TURNED 20.

The writers had my character crowned king of his high school’s Polynesian-themed senior dance. It was essentially me in a skirt with a weird headdress. The crew, who are normally my homeboys, barbecued me for it. I can handle a lot of grief, but that outfit still mortifies me.

I’M NOT A CRY-ON-COMMAND TYPE.

But Y&R taught me to tap into my sensitive side. As I’ve gotten older, it’s gotten easier to access my emotions, and that I attribute 100 percent to being the father of four children.
