CHEN LIPING and ROMEO TAN play a couple in upcoming Ch 8 dialect drama How Are You?. But only one of them thinks
Boy, that escalated quickly. It was just a while ago that Chen Liping and Romeo Tan played mother and son in Ch 8 long-form drama Life Less Ordinary and the just-concluded Say Cheese. But now, Liping, 53, and Romeo, 33, will be playing, wait for this, lovers in new Ch 8 dialect drama How Are You?.
At the drama’s lensing ceremony, Liping rocked a bowl cut along with a pair of hot pink Crocs, Minnie Mouse socks, and an overly bubbly demeanour. The veteran actress is of course very much in character — she plays a naive, autistic woman. Also, she gets all touchy-feely around Romeo, locking arms with him every so often during the event. “This is the first time we have to shoot scenes of us paktor-ing, so I think it’ll be quite funny,” Romeo tells us. “When I first knew about our pairing, I was like O-M-G! (Laughs) It was quite shocking. It’s hard to picture us as a couple. It’s a bit far-fetched.” Liping, on the other hand, is feeling a lot more optimistic about their May-December onscreen romance.
“It’s wonderful and refreshing!” she says. “He acted as my son in our two previous dramas together.
This time round, he finally plays my boyfriend!
