WITH THE PANDEMIC DISRUPTING THE SUPPLY chains around the world, businesses and companies are pushed to re-think and re-work on their future strategies. Global heads of supply chains across industry vertical also want to look at it as an opportunity to rewrite the way they source and distribute their products in light of the changing customer requirements and broader stakeholder needs.
Future of SCM and Logistics Summit 2021, held on May 28, was one of those rare virtual platforms where top industry leaders came together to discuss and deliberate upon key business strategies and future planning in regards to supply chain and logistics.
The day-long event, with three power packed panel discussions, was organised by Manufacturing Today in association with its Technology Partner, BlueYonder and Transformation Partner, IBM.
With a short note on the important role supply chain management and logistics play in today’s world, Amritha Mohankumar, Events Manager, ITP Media (India) laid out the event for the day.
In his opening note, ITP Media Country Head Bibhor Srivastava who welcomed the panellists, said “With an expected spent of 14% of Indian GDP on SCM and logistics industry, it is time to explore the supply chain and logistics management in India and devise strategies to improve it.”
Ashwani Bhargava, Director - Supply Chain Management, India Enterprise Boeing, gave the keynote address by saying that “whatever we are going through, is positioning us very well for the future”, referring to disruptions caused by the pandemic and the response of the SCM and logistic industry.
