Bringing Relish To The Impoverished

Foundation envisioned institutions so as to make a difference to the community as a whole. Business cannot grow in isolation; instead, empowering communities that are directly or indirectly connected with it, can create a huge difference and have an everlasting impact. An integral belief of the Wave Group is to give back to the communities that it serves, through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities. It is the very intent of the Group to create a vibrant, empowered and a selfsustaining community where resources are shared equally between men, women and children. We also work towards enabling people to realize their full potential, so that they actively participate in improving their social and economic development for a better life.

One cherished project was a school for the differently abled children, Mata Bhagwanti Chadha Niketan (MBCN). The Late Ponty Chadha, the founder of the school, himself a victim of physical disability, had stated that a barrier first arises at the mental level, and, social, intellectual or physical barriers follow. Today, the school not only brings more than a thousand differently-abled children under the same roof, it also provides a friendly and empathetic environment for a supportive approach towards moving ahead with life. The co-curricular and class activities that are scheduled for the batches are specially modulated keeping in mind their limitations, and help them make use of their strengths. It instils a belief in every child that he or she is not deprived, but is in fact gifted.

A very unique attribute of this school is that most of the teachers are parents of differently-abled children themselves, and, therefore, the need to respond to their needs, and be considerate to all the children comes automatically, and, this is what

How Can They Fire Her?

It is a common phenomenon in the corporate landscape to misinterpret the inability to respond to a query by a Manager as a serious lapse which at times leads to termination of his/her services. As a fallout, not only do they risk losing out a person with superior managerial skills, they also dampen the spirit of the juniors in her department, leading to sinking morale and reduced engagement.

Jerry, who worked as a manager in several restaurants in the US was very popular among the waiters in his restaurant. So much so that whenever he moved to a new job, the waiters would follow him there because they loved him for his positive and motivational attitude. When asked as to how he remained positive at all times, he replied, "Each time something bad happens, I can choose to be a victim or I can choose to learn from it. I always choose to learn from it."
