The P7 Gig: Return of a Legend

My story begins in 2016, when I left for a westward crossing of the Atlantic aboard my self-made, 5-meter-long (16.4') plywood boat Still crazy. The three-month voyage to the Caribbean messed with my head and, to be honest, I still haven’t gotten over it.

The P7 Gig: Return of a Legend

I thought that this journey would convince me I’d had enough sailing for a lifetime, or at least for a little while. But it soon turned out that I wanted to sail more and more often: Every day, before and after work, on the weekends and holidays. On my way to and from work, I was looking out the bus window and longing for the River Vistula in my native Poland. It’s always had a special place in my heart, although at the and of the day, I always somehow chose bigger reservoirs over it. But this time I decided my next boat would be built with river-sailing in mind. I dreamed of a vintage design, gaff-rigged and in a size suitable for these waters. It had to be big enough for weekend gateways with island camping, and small enough to single-handedly move it from the shallows. Then I came across the article about the P-7 Gig.

A HEAD FOR RUBATO

I dislike port-a-potties. I'm not too fond of poop in any form, really, being non-scatological by nature.
