The annual SIAM convention is an important event for those interested in or related to the Indian automotive industry. Ever since the explosive announcements by the current Minister of Road Transport about pushing electric vehicles, there has been a cloud of anticipation and apprehension in regards to what this year’s convention might bring about in terms of policies. The 2018 convention, however, concluded without any ground breaking announcements by either Mr. Nitin Gadkari or Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan, the Minister for Petroleum.
