Confused Between a Crossover, An Suv or Something Suv-ish? Let Us Help You Pick the Right One

- Janak Sorap

Right Choice

In our day-to-day activities, we are always taking some decision or the other. It may be as simple as deciding what to eat or what to wear right, up to the important ones like finding the right place to call home or the field you pick to pursue in life. No matter how straightforward or complex these decisions might be, there is always a thought involved behind them. These thoughts allow us to evaluate the situation and make sense of the same for the ideal choice. The same goes for when it comes to buying a new car, as it is more than just buying a set of wheels. For some, it might just be a metal shell with an engine plonked in to take you places. But, for the rest, it is more like an extension of their personality and preferences. That being said, which one should you buy? Given the different body styles, sizes and variants offered by most carmakers, you are often left confused rather than convinced with which car you should put your hard earned money on. Now, what if you were in the market to buy a new car that is a diesel, city friendly, reliable but also affordable enough to maintain? Well, in that case, we have with us three cars that fulfil the said criteria but, again, which one should you go for? We have the Tata Nexon, a compact SUV that is intriguing yet attractive, and then the newly updated S-Cross crossover from Maruti Suzuki, and to complete the trio the facelifted KUV100 NXT from Mahindra. Let’s find out which one ticks the most boxes.

2025 KTM 390 ADVENTURE

What makes a perfect shot? It's a cocktail of many elements — the right settings, correct gear, and a great environment. But more often than not, the defining factor behind a killer image is a giant pair of cojones — belonging equally to rider and photographer. Naturally, a few loose screws help, too. Thankfully, and rather coincidentally, Manaal and I align on this philosophy. How else would he willingly hoist a 21-inch wheel right up to my wide-angle lens, trusting that neither of us will cross paths catastrophically? We do have enough screws in the right places to not swap positions... Well, at least, that's what we tell ourselves.
