Jail For Horse ‘Rescuer' As Sentence Bill Put On Hold

THE prison term and life ban given to Annette Nally for keeping rescued horses in a “death camp” showed the need for tougher sentences for animal abuse — the same week plans to increase punishments were put on hold.

Nally, 50, of Solihull, was given a 26-week prison term and banned from keeping animals for life, at Kidderminster Magistrates’ Court on 6 September.

She was found guilty of four charges under the Animal Welfare Act, after horses in her care were found emaciated, in filthy stables, and in fields with no water. One was found dead in a barn.
