We're so delighted to share the stories, reviews and previews contained in this issue. As we begin the year 2020, we feature inspiring achievements and milestones in the African film industry. President Ramaphosa’s Tweet on Mmabatho Montsho’s award in February strirred up some hot discussions and grievances filmmakers in South Africa and other African countries have had towards government agencies and ministries’ support for local filmmakers. On the other hand, we discuss strides made by other filmmakers like Zambia’s Cassie Kabwita, Ramsey Nouah, Elkanah Luam amongst others and we look deeply at Netflix’s first African Original Series, Queen Sono. We discuss Bhai’s Café, a great South Africa-Bollywood feature film that premiered on Vallentine’s Day. Africa is really making strides in making international impact in the film industry. We definitely have a great future. Together we will rise. Drop your comments on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram @justfilmmag.
