I was first exposed to Steampunk several years ago via the collectible doll industry,
which I am also involved in. There is something about it that’s enthralling and enamoring.
Elements of the style hearken back to the extravagance of the Victorian era,
combined with a sci-fi-oriented look at the future. The style seemed to light artists’
minds on fire, and it has since expanded its influence far beyond the realm of niche
markets. This issue’s Profile in Success takes a look at Sue Beatrice, who creates masterful
Steampunk sculptures that will blow your mind—seriously. Take a look on page 20.
