We’ve got a good mix of techniques to tempt you with our projects this month. Our cover quilt, Trinkets Fusion, is a delightful pieced quilt with Half Square Triangles made using a different method. We feature another collection of fabrics called Trinkets in the Primitive Pinwheels quilt that is made by fusible appliqué rather than piecing. A simpler project, but with the need for accuracy nonetheless is Rising High. If traditional quilts are for you, you can’t go far wrong with the Double Wedding Table Topper or Dresden Daisies, both projects employing traditional blocks. We make another pieced block in our block of the month quilt, Stars and Flowers and Stuart Hillard encourages us to make a dent in our stash with the wonderful Spring Fling block in Stashbusting. Helen went to visit the annual 12 x 12 exhibition of mini quilts at Midsomer Quilting just before Christmas. It’s amazing the number of entries this challenge receives every year. Sheilah Daughtree tells us about the History of the Dresden Plate block, while bang up to the present day, Kerry Foster shows us all the various tools to help you improve your machine quilting skills in Fell Free to Free Motion Quilt. Joanna O’Neill busts some quilt judging myths in FOQ FAQ while we take a look at Gwenfai Rees Griffiths’ First and Last quilts and meet Leicestershire Quilters in Introducing.
