After losing their beloved daughter, Liv, to cancer, the Lipnicky family started a foundation to help children just like their little girl-and have brought joy and solace to thousands of other families
One day in March of 2019, the Lipnicky family’s life changed forever after their 8-year-old daughter, Olivia—or Liv—went from being evaluated for a skiing injury to being diagnosed with cancer. Doctors had discovered an incurable, untreatable tumor in her brain called diffuse midline glioma, giving her only nine months to live.
“What do you mean there are no treatments?” her mother, Emma, gasped, her heart shattering. “How is this possible?”
Still, even as the family was suffering through the unimaginable, young Liv stayed true to what was in her heart: being the good in the world. With that in mind, she decided to make a plan to help other kids like her.
