They provide childcare for struggling families!
Woman's World

Determined to support people in need, Lynn Hawkins and her daughter Quady opened the first emergency nursery in New Jersey—creating a safe haven that has continued to touch countless lives!

Love can make all the difference in a child’s life, Lynn Hawkins thought after volunteering at Casa de Esperanza de los Niños in Houston, Texas as a young college student in 1989. Seeing children rescued from devastating situations by a devoted team touched her heart.
I can see the sadness in the children’s eyes melt away when they realize they are finally safe, she thought, This is special work.
When Lynn moved back home to New Jersey, she started volunteering as a childcare worker at a group home. There she met the most important person in her life: A sweet, curly-haired baby named Quady, who would change her life forever.
I know in my heart she’s supposed to be my daughter, Lynn realized, and decided to adopt Quady when she was a toddler. Little did she know, Quady would grow up to share her dream of providing a safe haven for children at risk.

The Mary Tyler Moore SHOW
From That Girl in the 1960s to Ally McBeal in the 1990s to Sex and the City in the 2000s, television has long reflected the shifting image of independent women. Yet the true game-changer came in 1970, when The Mary Tyler Moore Show introduced Mary Richards—30, single, stylish and making her way in a newsroom full of men. Rather than being someone’s wife or daughter, she was the star, and she changed television forever. Join us for a look back at rare behind-the-scenes photos of the groundbreaking show as we celebrate its 55th anniversary.

Happy money, happy holidays
The holidays are here (yay!), and with them comes both joy and, let's be honest, stress. For many of us, the shopping lists, entertaining costs or the ache of an empty chair at the table can dim the sparkle of the season. If that's you, please accept my wishes that the days land lightly.
