Clear shower mildew with cotton balls
Rather than scrub grout, saturate cotton balls in bleach (which kills mildew) and place them over mildewy spots for an hour before tossing in the trash. "Then spritz the grout with tea tree oil," says Stan Velchev of Samyx Cleaning (SamyxCleaning.com). "In a spray bottle, add 10 to 12 drops of tea tree oil to 1 cup of water." The oil's anti-mildew properties prevent it from growing back.
