Indeed, enjoying two extra servings of fresh produce daily reduces your dehydration risk by 42%, say investigators reporting in The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. Fruits and veggies contain "gel water," a form of fluid that releases water into the body slowly and steadily to hydrate cells more efficiently. While all fresh produce has gel water, you can find the highest levels in extra juicy options such as watermelon, cucumbers, tomatoes and berries.
