You've likely heard of the Sunday scaries, the dread we feel over the upcoming week. It turns out Monday is no slouch in the stress department either. New research shows the aptly dubbed “Monday effect” dials up tension in workers and retirees alike. “It doesn’t matter if you're currently employed, because this anxiety is a conditioned response stemming from years in the workforce,” explains mental health expert Arlin Cuncic. The first step to taming this tension? Simply name your emotions. “The awareness that comes from saying what you're feeling helps quell stress.”
