"God put me in the right place at the right time!"

While driving his UPS delivery route one day, Raheem Cooper found a woman lying in her driveway, unable to move or speak. After getting her help, the pair became friends, and now he calls her Grandma!

Raheem Cooper received an Acts of Heroism award from UPS for his kindness

On a 100-degree day in mid-August of last year, UPS driver Raheem Cooper was making his usual deliveries when a feeling came over him to turn down a street in Valdosta, Georgia that was not on his route. I don't know what it is, but something is guiding me, Raheem thought.

Suddenly, to his left, Raheem saw a woman lying face down on the hot pavement behind her car. The 30-year-old single dad of two stopped his truck and ran toward the woman. He saw blood coming from her face, arm and leg. This is pretty bad, Raheem thought. She was conscious, but her left hand was shaking and she couldn't speak.

“Just be still, I’m about to get help,” Raheem said gently.

Terrified, he called 911.
