Conquering any fear with faith

Everyone on board the plane was relaxed, happy and ready for takeoff—but not Sadie Robertson Huff. Her heart pounded wildly, and it became difficult to breathe.

“I asked the flight attendant before we taxied to the runway if she could open the door so I could get off the plane because I was having an anxiety attack. And she let me!” Sadie tells Woman's World. “I ended up in a random airport by myself, crying and in sheer panic. That was a wake-up call for me because I realized it was affecting my life, and I had to get it figured out.”

That was a decade ago—and today, the 27-year-old wife, mother, author and founder of Live Original ministry, has learned to quell her anxiety and live a happy, productive life. She currently can be seen on her family’s hit reality show Duck Dynasty: The Revival and her band LO Worship will be releasing their debut album in September. Here, Sadie shares how she’s learned to cope with her biggest fears and find true joy—by trusting that God keeps His promises.

“From the time I was a little girl, I always had anxiety,” Sadie sighs. “Things that I would notice my brother was not worried about, I was always fretting over. If the clouds were getting gray, I was worried about the storm that was coming. I was just that kind of kid.”

By the time Sadie was in high school, her family was thrust into the spotlight due to the enormous success of their reality show Duck Dynasty. “My life started to blow up,” she recalls. “Our family went from living in this small town, known by just friends and family, to suddenly being known by the world. It was quite the shock, and then to go to L.A. and be on
