In a secluded spot in Cumbria's RSPB Campfield Marsh, the air could soon be humming with a new generation of petite White-faced Darter dragonflies.

The British Dragonfly Society is working with the RSPB to introduce larvae from a donor population, to help this increasingly rare species flourish in the restored boggy habitat. Males sport a red and black body, and the females a jaunty yellow and black, but both have the distinctive white face.*rspb.org
