Hypertension in Young Working Women

The relentless pursuit of career goals, productivity, and personal achievements has become a defining feature of modern young womanhood. However, behind the rise-and-grind culture lies a growing health crisis: hypertension among young working women, fueled by what researchers are increasingly identifying as “hustle stress.”

Historically considered a condition of middle and older age, high blood pressure is now surging in prevalence among women in their 20s and 30s. A 2023 analysis from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) reported a 13% increase in hypertension among US women aged 20-39 over the past decade. This trend is most pronounced in those with high-demand jobs and long work hours.
