The stars of the ABC comedy take us behind the cameras on the Canberra set for season two

After finding fame on Love On The Spectrum as himself, the 31-year-old is now celebrating his first Logie nomination for Best Lead Actor in a Comedy for his role in Austin.

Is acting your main focus for the future?

Definitely. But it isn't the only path that I have. I'm also the ambassador of Wable, which is a dating app for people on the spectrum, I'm an autism consultant at Aspect and I'm also writing a children's book.

Can you tell us what your children's book is about?

It's about a nine-year-old boy on the autism spectrum who has trouble fitting in with his peers at school. And because of that he's decided that he wants to fit in among animals so he can find his crowd, because he's so passionate about them. It will be out some time next year because it takes seven months for it to be illustrated and three months for it to be published.

This time around, the fame has gone to Austin's head a bit - has it gone to yours in real life, too?

No. Because I made a sacred oath years ago to my parents that if I got into this industry I wouldn't let all this get to me or let it change me.

A lot of people first came to know you on Love On The Spectrum - are you still looking for love?

Actually, I already have found love. We've been together since last year. She's great and we're enjoying spending time together.

What would be your dream role to play?

A villainous character!
